Themed around Trading Card Games (TCG), the event attracted an unprecedented turnout of more than 10,000 visitors, underscoring the strong momentum and significant growth potential of the Chinese trading card market.
As the first nationwide exhibition dedicated to TCGs, the "CARDJOY x Grade10 Card Show" placed a special spotlight on Pokémon cards, which are marking their 30th anniversary this year amid surging global popularity. The event featured a wide range of activities, including card grading services, competitive gameplay, live autograph sessions with illustrators, and networking opportunities for collectors, making it a highly sought-after pop culture gathering among Generation Z. The event successfully brought together over 100 top exhibitors from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and overseas, facilitating in-depth exchanges across trading card commerce and culture.
The event also showcased some of the world's rarest trading cards, including the widely acclaimed "Pikachu Illustrator" card graded PSA 9, the world's only PSA10 first-generation Champion Pikachu Trophy card, as well as the "Boss Pikachu" and "Astronaut Pikachu" cards, which stood out in art academy competitions and were awarded the highest BGS Black Label 10 and BGS Pristine 10 grades, respectively. The collective appearance of these highly prized cards created one of the most striking highlights in the history of TCG exhibitions in the Chinese Mainland.
Hanru Tang, Founder of PokeColor, China's leading trading card enterprise, and CARDJOY, the country's premier card show, said, "CARDJOY has been deeply rooted in the trading card industry for years. We have not only built a platform integrating online marketplaces, auctions, physical store trading, and collector communities, but also expanded this passion to multiple cities in the Chinese Mainland and the global market, witnessing firsthand the growth and leap of trading card culture! By establishing a one-stop trading card ecosystem, we enable collectors both domestically and overseas to trade with greater ease and confidence.
This year, we hosted the CARDJOY x Grade10 Card Show for the first time, bringing together previously fragmented card dealers to create a high-quality networking platform. It is also provided an excellent opportunity for card enthusiasts to gather, share insights and exchange collections. We firmly believe this initiative will help lead the industry towards a more dynamic and sustainable ecosystem, while actively introducing international exhibitors and collectors to serve as a bridge for cross-border exchange."
Ray Chan, Chief Executive Officer of MemeStrategy and Grade10, said, "As trading cards gain increasing traction in the Chinese market, China is home to a large and growing base of sophisticate collectors. However, there has always been a lack of large-scale exhibitions themed around gaming and anime trading cards. We are thrilled to partner with PokeColor, a leading player in the trading card industry in China, to pioneer the first national TCG event in the vibrant city of Hangzhou. Under PokeColor's leadership, this inaugural event received an overwhelming response, bringing together collectors from across the Chinese Mainland and Asian collectors from various regions. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with PokeColor to drive the collectibles culture industry towards greater maturity and internationalization."
